John Chester and Johnathan Cole took over El Mexico, the only Mexican Restaurant in Weymouth, in May 2007.
They specialise in serving authentic Mexican dishes freshly cooked at reasonable prices.
John Chester is the chef/owner who trained in Birmingham. He has since worked for ‘Rackhams’, The Birmingham Exhibition Centre, The National Exhibition Centre, The National Indoor Arena and The Woodbourne Priory Hospital/Clinic before moving to Weymouth in the summer of 2007.
His career in catering continued with positions at The Dorothy Inn and The Crown Hotel before being tempted to part-own El Mexico. The brightly coloured interior is enhanced by many artefacts of Mexican origin and interest. Mexican cooking for John was a new challenge and he has enjoyed experimenting with different flavours and dishes devising a varied and appetising Menu to tempt most palates – from spicy to just a hint of spice.
Parties can be catered for upstairs where up to 30 can be accommodated and John prepares a Mexican Feast for £12.95 a head, for parties of 8 and over, demonstrating his skills for a variety of tasty dishes.
Speciality Cocktails are also on offer here with Large Glasses at £3.95 and Jugs £11.95.
At present they are running a January Special – Buy one main course get the second, the cheapest, half price to help ward off the ‘January Blues’.
February will be another offer period – Buy any starter and get a Fajita at the Special Price of only £8 – a saving of between £2 and £3 depending on which type you choose.

This clothing and accessory store opened its doors on 20 November 2006 and had a very successful first year stocking mainly its own brand and designs, so exclusivity is its key selling aid.
