Tim and Maggie are the faces behind cyclelife. Tim's background is in engineering, having been both a Jaguar apprentice and Daewoo technician, but it was his passion for cycling that led him to open the Raleigh Cycle Centre six and a half years ago, now know as cyclelife.
The store was relocated from St Mary Street to Abbotsbury Road towards the end of last year. They now have free parking at the back of the store from Holland Road and lots more space inside.
Tim is busy this week assembling 20 new cycles from the new, vastly extended, Raleigh catalogue, described in a National Newspaper as being 'As big as a house!'
The new catalogues are by the front door with price lists which people are welcome to browse. Alternatively Tim can use his special cyclelife link to the Raleigh factory to tell you what is being made in the factory and when it will be available.
If the bike has been manufactured, and your order is urgent, it can be obtained overnight at no extra charge - otherwise your chosen model will arrive within one week of order. The range extends from full carbon race bikes to a child's 12" push along, all with free non time limited safety check.
New for 2008! Cycles for hire including trailer and a 'tag along'. All the bikes are new and priced very competitively at £10 per unit per day.
Tim and Maggie are proud of the fact that cyclelife Weymouth supplied and service all the Raleigh cycles now used by the local police. cyclelife Weymouth is open 7 days a week from Easter until Christmas
but should you call and find the lights on with the doors locked this is because Tim has answered the call of the Lifeboat Emergency Service. Fortunately such calls are infrequent, but in any case Maggie is always on hand to re-open the shop within 30 minutes.
